The Torre della fune
A prison was built in the ancient tower, which looms over the Palazzo Nuovo: on the floor a trap door provided the only access to the cell below where prisoners were condemned to death by starvation.
Nearby is the cistern used to collecting rainwater, which was used for the castle’s water supply.F
