As in the case of the Sala degli Specchi, this room also underwent important changes between 1758 and 1762 when Dosso Dossi’s frescoes were replaced with the present work. The theme chosen by Bernardo Cles to decorate this room was quite complex and included the six days of the Creation, the planets, the constellations, the zodiac, and some episodes taken from Ovid’s Metamorphosis. Of the room’s 16th century furnishings, only the large majolica stove remains, dating from 1532. Stories from the Old Testament are depicted on the tiles and are the work of the German artist Bartolomäus Dill Riemenschneider.

From this room one proceeds to the second floor of the Giunta Albertiana.
