In these grand architectonic partitions, Romanino painted genre-scenes such as hunters at rest, an image (fragmentary) of tavern life, a soldier meeting a prostitute and the castration of a cat; mythological themes with Zeus, Mercury, Venus and Cupid with a bear cub; the biblical episode of Lot and his daughters; and finally, above the door that leads to the garden is the portrait of Paolo Alemanno, the court jester.
